This site is dedicated to researching the family histories of mainly the Thorps but also the connected families of Paul, Brownhill, Dooks, McCaffrey, Peters, Hinchliffe, Cooper.  Like most family trees it began trying to “see how far back we could go” and finding that it is very difficult to get past 1800 (more of that later).  But once bitten by the research bug, and with the vast resources of the internet to hand  going wide and branching out into matriarchal lines and filling in the details is extremely rewarding and satisfying.
