
June Thorp
Theatrical Biography
June Thorp (b. April 16, 1934, d. March 22, 2025) pursued a singing career that spanned more than 40 years. She was first encouraged to sing with her twin sister Jean whilst at school in Bircotes, Nottinghamshire, in the late 1930s.
June performed with the Wakefield West Riding Operatic Society for many years, and was part of the cast for the first live performance at the newly opened Wakefield Opera House in March 1983.
